FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All Caron chambers require pH-neutral water of between 50K Ohms and 1Meg Ohms resistivity. This type of water can be obtained from distilled, reverse osmosis (RO) or deionized (DI) sources. Caron offers a system, the CRSY condensate recirculator, for facilities without a house water system.

Less pure water, with resistivity less than 50K Ohms, can lead to difficult to remove mineral deposits on system components, or within the chamber. Water of greater purity, such as ultrapure or Water For Injection (WFI) above 1 Meg Ohm can attack key unit components, causing damage not covered under warranty.

Caron's chambers drain by gravity so any rises, loops or kinks in the drain trubing will cause water to back up into the front trough.  Make certain all drain tubing is flat against the floor.

Heated only chambers are not equipped with a refrigeration system so they are very sensitive to the environment and other heat sources located next to them. If your heated only chamber is running above set point, record the ambient temperature of the lab and make certain your set point is at a minimum of 10C higher than the ambient temperature. Then make certain there are no other heat sources located near your heated only chamber. Your chamber can absorb that external heat load which can cause the chamber to run above set point. Heat sources can include furnace vents, windows without blinds or other pieces of equipment next to or stacked with your chamber.

The radiant heat being given off from the light bulbs will greatly increase the surface temperature of your independent sensor showing that the chamber is not running at set point.  Our chambers control air temperature behind one of the false walls to prevent a false reading from the radiant light heat.

Particles of dirt or rust, as well as large amounts of condensed moisture or oil that may be in the compressed air line feeding the dryer must be removed from the air stream before it enters the dryer via an in-line filter.
