Caron introduces new Insect Rearing Chambers
(Marietta, OH, March 29, 2018) Caron is pleased to announce a new family of insect rearing chambers. Now with available application-specific lighting and H2O2 chamber sterilization, these units combine easy-use controls, corrosion-resistant materials, and a unique clean chamber design. Caron’s signature features include a state-of-the art color touchscreen with intuitive breadcrumb navigation, uniform directed airflow, for high temperature uniformity even when full, 3-minute tool-less interior removal for fast and easy cleaning, and long-life electrostatic-coated coils.
An industry first, Caron’s new narrow spectrum LED lighting option, emitting only long-wavelength light, has been shown to improve flying insect hatch rates and adult viability.
Caron also addresses contamination in a unique way, with a validatable dry H2O2 sterilization cycle that eliminate mites, mold, and bacteria inside the chamber with an unrivaled two-hour automatic process. Post-cycle cleanup and reconfiguration is virtually nonexistent, since the cycle runs with all interior components in place, and requires no wipedown after completion.
“We understand that insects can be messy and sensitive”, commented Steve Keiser, Caron President & CEO. “We’re dedicated to finding unique ways to ensure your insect rearing environments are clean and consistent, as well as convenient and easy to operate for your lab technicians.”
